Ingredients

Ingredient Amount Notes
Cheddar Cheese 1/2 lb Grated
Cream Cheese 6 oz Original recipe called for 2 small packages. Philadelpia used to sell in 3 Oz blocks
Butter 1/2 lb  
Egg Whites 2  
Bread   Cubed

Method

  1. Melt Chedder, Cream Cheese, and Butter together in double boiler
  2. Cool
  3. Beat egg whites to stiff peaks and add to cooled cheese mixture
  4. Cube bread
  5. Dip cubed bread into Cheese + Egg white mixture
  6. Freeze cheese-covered bread cubes until ready to use
  7. Preheat oven to 450°F
  8. Bake for 10 minutes

  • Serve hot
