Method

  1. Select Bread
  2. Sliced thin if not already sliced
  3. Trim crusts
  4. Cut into a variety of small shapes
  5. Spread with softened butter or margerine
  6. Cover with waxed paper until ready to use
  7. Select toppings from table below
  8. Top
  9. Serve

White Bread American Cheese (slice of) Egg Paprika  
White Bread American Cheese (silce of) Egg    
White Bread Pimento Cheese Anchovy (fillet)

Notes

Modern Notes

  • It’s unclear if thin slice is meant to apply to the roast beef or Roquefort Cheese in the second toppings list. The original is missing a comma and I could see it as either. I assumed deli meat would always be sliced thin, whereas Cheese might not be able applied it to the cheese. –David S
