Ingredients

Ingredient Amount Notes
Asparagus   Fresh
Sugar Pinch  
Butter 2 Tbsp  
Flour 1 Tbsp Flour  
Milk 1/2 cup  
Salt To Taste  
Lemon   For serving

Method

  1. Wash peel and cut up fresh asparagus
  2. Discard tough butts
  3. Boil in just enough water to cover
  4. When tender, lift asparagus from juice reserving water for later
  5. Place asparagus on hot dish
  6. In a separate pan melt butter
  7. Stir in flour to butter to make a roux
  8. Stir in milk to roux
  9. Add salt to taste
  10. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly
  11. Thin with water asparagus was cooked in

Notes

  • Increase recipe to match amount of asparagus
  • Serve with Lemon
