Ingredients

Ingredient Amount Notes
Tomatoes 3 large Firm - Either Red or Green
Sugar    
Salt    
Pepper    
Eggs 2  
Milk 1/4 cup  
Corn Meal 1/2 cup  

Method

  1. Slice tomatoes into 1/2 inch slices
  2. Sprinkle with sugar, salt, and pepper to taste
  3. Beat eggs
  4. Add milk and corn meal to eggs to make a batter
  5. Dip tomato slices into batter
  6. Heat 1/2 inch of fat
  7. Fry Tomato slices about 2 minutes, turning once to brown each side
  8. Drain on paper

Notes

  • Serve hot
  • Good with steaks, chops, or hamburgers
